Treat Dry Hands: A Three-Step Hand Care Routine

319 days ago By Omorovicza

There are a number of factors that can lead to the development of dry hands but soaps and hand gels with high alcohol content are one of the primary causes. The alcohol is harsh on your skin, leading to dehydration and loss of elasticity, causing your hands to age faster.

To treat dry hands, follow our three-step hand care routine to help gently buff away dead skin cells and replenish hydration for soothed and nourished hands.

How To Treat Dry Hands

1. Wash With A Gentle Cleanser

Avoid alcohol-based products when you wash your hands and instead, opt for a gentle, hydrating cleanser that removes daily grime without stripping the skin of moisture.

We recommend using the ultra-soft Cashmere Cleanser. Blending calendula extract, apricot kernel oil and shea butter, its luxurious formula removes impurities, while restoring and nourishing the skin. Massage the cleanser into your hands, then remove with warm water.

Expert Tip: Antibacterial soaps can be dehydrating, so avoid them if your hands are likely to become dry or cracked. Instead, wash your hands for 20 seconds using an Omorovicza gentle cleanser.

2. Exfoliate

The skin on your hands can also benefit from a weekly or twice-weekly exfoliation, which helps to buff away dead cells on the surface, and helps skin to become more absorbent with the use of hydrating hand care products, like serums, oils and creams.

We recommend applying the luxurious Gold Sugar Scrub to your dry hands. Formulated with fair-trade sugar cane, this scrub helps to gently scrub away dead skin cells. It contains colloidal gold, which acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory to heal micro-damage and nourish the skin. Massage it between your palms using circular motions, then work it across the back of your hands and along your fingers. Rinse thoroughly with warm water using a cloth mitt.

Expert Tip: Apply the scrub to the nail bed to soften cuticles.

3. Hydrate

Hydration is a key way to treat dry hands. Keep the skin on your hands looking and feeling nourished with a rich hand cream or lotion.

We’d recommend using the Nourishing Hand Treatment. Hydrating and brightening, this cream helps to soothe and rejuvenate tired-looking hands. Massage it into your palms using small circular motions, then apply generously onto hands and benefit from instant absorption and nourishment. Re-apply throughout the day to maintain skin’s natural moisture level as needed.

Expert Tip: Add a boost of extra hydration to your hand care with a few drops of our Firming Body Oil. Its invigorating formula leaves skin hydrated, soft and silky-smooth.
